NCK
Established in 2005, the Nordic Centre of Heritage Learning (NCK) is a Nordic collaborative initiative for creative research, experimental method development and dissemination within the field of cultural heritage learning. Cultural heritage learning is used as a term for the sum of learning activities from four different disciplines and traditions: museum education, archive education, heritage site education and art education.
Through advanced cultural heritage learning, NCK aims to integrate Nordic cultural heritage into social development in a way that promotes lifelong learning, regional development and sustainable growth.
NCK is run jointly by Jamtli - the regional museum, the regional archives in Östersund and the popular movements archive in Jämtland. Jamtli is well known within the museum world for its educational work and has indoor cultural history, archaeological and art exhibitions and a relatively large open air museum with living history. Including the NCK staff members, Jamtli employs around 130 people.
